Way too cocky! NFL Twitter BASHES Anthony Richardson for being too overconfident and calli

July 2024 · 4 minute read

Anthony Richardson is undoubtedly the best athlete in this year’s NFL draft. The Florida Gators QB is proficient in many qualities and has been touted as a top-5 pick in this year’s draft.

The 20-year-old QB surprised everyone with his athleticism during the Combine and was soon turned into a top prospect. However, he has no experience or pedigree from college football as he became a starter one season ago.

Still, there is something that separates Richardson from other candidates in the draft. The QB is extremely confident and some even believe that his confidence has turned into arrogance and cockiness.

Confidence is highly essential to succeed in anything. However, an excess of confidence can be really bad. A similar case recently occurred with Richardson, who recently stated that he’s incomparable to other players from the NFL draft and is simply the best among them.

“As a player, I’m not human. I’m an Alien. I don’t think I can be compared to anybody,” Anthony Richardson stated via Cameron Wolfe. This recent statement was met with lots of flak on social media and many started to point out the QB’s weaknesses.

According to the scout reports, Richardson isn’t even the best player in this year’s draft and his only standout quality is his athleticism. Not only that, but his lack of experience can also be a gamble for any team looking to sign him.

Richardson is strongly favored to be a top-5 pick and the Indianapolis Colts are the favorites to pick him. However, his recent statements may play a huge part in his future as it didn’t go down well with the fans.

The 2023 NFL draft isn’t dominated by high-caliber QBs. However, there are some who are better than the average and will probably be picked over Anthony Richardson.

After his recent comment went viral, people took to Twitter to call out the 20-year-old QB for his cockiness. There were many who called out his ball-throwing accuracy and believe that he’ll get eaten alive in the league.

Richardson also stated recently that he will be in the Hall of Fame one day and desires to be the best of the best in the NFL. However, he was reminded that one becomes the best by working and not by talking.

I would rather hear him talk about how hard he’s gonna work

How much growth he still has to do
Not talk about how special he is

You didn’t hear this from Hurts, Mahomes, Allen, Herbert & others when they came out

Be more like them
& less like Cam Newton

He knows we were able to watch the games right?

What the hell is happening. Why do people think he's good all of the sudden

Ok, buddy's getting WAY to cocky

Surprisingly, there were also many who supported Richardson’s statements and applauded his work ethic and confidence. However, they were in less majority than the others.

The character and work ethic are off the charts. It’s been confirmed. But imagine if you’re confident enough to say this, how much ur dedicated to the game.

I bet the team that drafts him will be surprised by how much closer he is to being able to play than he isn’t.

Dude is actually a really phenomenal player.

In hindsight, people will only be able to find out about Anthony Richardson’s capabilities once he gets drafted and plays in the NFL. Until then, everyone can make their assumptions regarding the future of the young QB.
