Travis Kelce clueless about why Dallas fans heavily booed him, still calls the city a legit sport

Although Travis Kelce has a lot of respect for Dallas sports teams, the state’s residents don’t have the same deal of fascination for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. They made it clear when Kelce attended the third match between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves last week with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany along with Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice.

The 34-year-old spoke highly of Dallas’ mixed with confusion during the recent episode of the ‘New Heights’ podcast. He recalled seeing himself on the giant screen suspended above the center of the court.

I'm on the jumbotron. And I heard all the boos. I'm just like, oh, s**t. I'm getting booed. [Then I thought] Guess this is happening. [Nice. Thanks.] Nice to see you guys, Dallas. Appreciate the warm welcome.
Travis Kelce told his older brother Jason Kelce

Yet, when the Camera panned toward Mahomes, the crowd cheered loudly. Being a Texan native and playing for Texas Tech does have its perks.

Travis Kelce revealed that he had always been a fan of Dallas

The Kelce brothers grew up in an era right after the Dallas Cowboys dominated football. They were still considered one of the best teams in the NFL. So it’s natural there would be a fondness toward the ‘America’s Team.’

Kelce saw a Cowboys player an NFL great tight end Jason Witten, powerful runs through the opposition’s defenses on the TV at home in Cleveland Heights.

Dude, I grew up a huge Jason Witten [former Cowboys tight end] appreciator.
Travis Kelce said

He further mentioned being influenced by two greats of the game, Deion Sanders and Emmitt Smith.

The Cowboys were always the f****ng boys when they had Deion [Sanders] and and, Emmitt [Smith]. Dude, I used to wanna be a Stars [a Cowboys player], man.
Travis Kelce added

Big blow for Jerry Jones. Anyway, the 9-time Pro Bowler, instead of joining his girlfriend in Europe, opted for a detour to catch some of his favorite athletes play. He praised the Mavs’ Kyrie Irving and shared a meeting with Luka Doncic after the game.

A day before the NBA game, he was spotted watching the Dallas Stars leveling the series 1-1 with the Edmonton Oilers in hockey.

Shout out to Dallas. I had a fu**ing blast. Love the NHL and NBA Western Conference Finals, and always good to see, when you go and enter somebody else's arena, to see that thing rocking and the home team's gotta win. I was rooting for the [Dallas] Stars for sure.
Travis Kelce concluded

Now whether his positive monologue will win over the Dallas fans is hard to predict. Regardless, he is a three-time Super Bowl winner and dating Taylor Swift, so he can survive a little booing from rival fans.
