Ryder Cup Wiki 2023, Schedule and Stats: In the fall of 2023, the 44th Ryder Cup Matches will be held in Guidonia Montecelio, near Rome, at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. The event, which happens every two years, was supposed to take place from September 30 to October 2, 2022.
However, the 43rd match had to be moved to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The United States team currently owns the Ryder Cup after beating Europe 19–9 at Whistling Straits in 2021.
Choosing the host
On June 23, 2014, the bid process for the 2023 Ryder Cup began. Countries had until August 31 to show their interest in a formal method. Format
Match play is used in the Ryder Cup, and each match is worth one point. Here’s how the competition will work:
Day 1 (Friday) – 4 foursome (alternate shot) matches along with 4 fourball (better ball) matches
Day 2 (Saturday) – 4 foursome matches along with 4 fourball matches
Day 3 (Sunday) – 12 singles matches
Four foursome matches and four fourball matches will each take place on the first two days of the tournament. After that, the home captain decides which ones are played in the morning and which ones are played in the afternoon. There is a possible total of 28 points up for grabs. To win the Cup, a team needs 14 12 points, and the defending champion needs 14 points to keep the Cup. All matches can go on for up to 18 holes.

Early in 2022, both team captains were named. Zach Johnson was named captain of the U.S. team on February 28, and Henrik Stenson was named captain of the European team on March 15.
