Here’s a complete breakdown of all the bosses you have to defeat in No More Heroes 3.

No More Heroes 3 brings the series’ protagonist Travis Touchdown back to Santa Destroy to stop an alien invasion impending on Earth. The orchestrators are aliens serenading as superheroes and ruling over the Galactic Superhero Rankings. That’s why our favorite otaku hitman must join the ranks and bring down the culprits.

As you progress through the story, you will have to fight multiple bosses until you finally face off against Prince FU at the top of the hierarchy. Each of the bosses you encounter will have a different fighting style, so you must adapt to different strategies in each rank battle.

Moreover, in addition to having different personalities, each boss has their own unique item drop when you defeat them. Furthermore, in addition to the 10 ranked bosses, you will face other challenging foes outside the Galactic Superhero Rankings. This guide will list all the bosses you must fight in No More Heroes 3’s main story and explain how to defeat them.

All Bosses in No More Heroes 3

There are a total of 12 bosses you’ll encounter as part of the main story in No More Heroes 3.

Mr. Blackhole

Mr. Blackhole is the first main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 01 – Darkness. He appears to be the sole survivor of a planet that FU destroyed before invading Earth. And despite his resentment towards FU, he complies with his master to avoid being killed.

Despite being an introductory boss, the battle is not tutorial-level and will truly test your newly learned abilities. His move sets include opening three space portals and jabbing his fist through them, launching a projectile through a portal, and emerging from the portal himself and dropping from the sky. Moreover, the range of his projectile attack increases once his health drops to 50%.

The best way to win the battle is by avoiding being in direct line of his portals and attacking him with your beam katana whenever he emerges out of one of the portals. Moreover, you should charge your beam katana whenever Blackhole disappears and interrupt his charged attacks with a Death Kick attack. Furthermore, you should follow Jean in space to be led towards Mr. Blackhole and use the laser cannons to deal devastating damage.

Gold Joe

Gold Joe is the second main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 02 – Space. He is a space ore dealer and a melee master specializing in projection mapping. Unlike Mr. Blackhole, Gold Joe’s loyalty towards Prince FU runs deep as his family has served FU for generations.

Gold Joe uses polarity attacks using magnets and performs melee attacks by wielding four swords in four arms, just like General Grievous from Star Wars. As you fight, some of the tiles on the battlefield will shift color between red and blue. Stepping on them will cause Travis’s polarity to change and allow Gold Joe to unleash a devastating melee attack by using a magnet to pull you toward his body and spinning his blades at high speed.

The best strategy to avoid being pulled towards the enemy against your will is by cornering Gold Joe against the stage fence and unleashing deadly combos that stun him. You can mix wrestling moves with melee attacks to deal the most damage. And if you get sucked in, try to dodge roll and land on a block that matches the color of the field before you get caught in Gold Joe’s attack.

Native Dancer

Native Dancer is the third main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 03 – Memory. Although you are supposed to fight Black Night Direction, who holds the 8th position in the Galactic Superhero Rank, your fight ends before it can even begin. A mysterious ninja that claims to be from the future swiftly beheads the alien’s head and challenges you instead. Not only that, but he also gives you your first Death Glove ability before starting the fight.

Native Dancer can unleash lightning-fast melee attacks with his katana but also perform ranged attacks with exploding Kunai. The first half of your battle will include running around town and chasing after Native Dancer. Moreover, he’ll occasionally form clones of himself to overwhelm you. Furthermore, he will often attack you with a jump slash. And once his health drops to 50%, he’ll create shockwaves that spread across a large area of effect from where he lands.

This battle will make you use your newly acquired Death Glove skills. Try to use your Death Force skill to knock off your opponent. Then, use Death Slow to unleash a flurry of attacks while slowing down his recovery speed. To avoid his jump slash attacks, you must corner him to the edge of the battle stage and perform wrestling moves that stun him. Moreover, you should also switch to your full-armor mode once he creates clones of himself. Furthermore, you should also use Death Rain, as it works great against the clones.

Kimmy Love

Kimmy returns! Kimmy Love is the fourth main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 04 – Sorrow. Much like your previous fight, your battle with the 7th-rank holder, Vanishing Point, is hijacked by Kimmy this time. Before he can even battle you, Vanishing Point is slain by Kimmy for killing her background dancers mid-concert. After engaging in an epic rap battle with a grown-up Kimmy, you’ll have to battle her.

Kimmy uses a dual-blade beam sword, pyrotechnics, and a variety of ranged attacks. The concert stage itself is rigged with animatronic bears that shoot lasers out of their eyes and fires that emerge from nozzles across the floor. Kimmy’s melee attacks themselves can be deadly as she swirls her beam sword around at an incredible speed. Once her health drops to 70%, she will disappear momentarily and reemerge when the lights get dimmed. She’ll also release shockwaves whenever she lands.

The animatronic bears pose a great risk to your health, so you should stick close to them to avoid their laser eyes. If you find yourself at the center of the stage, try to perform multiple dodge rolls to avoid getting in the line of fire. Moreover, you should also aim to destroy Kimmy’s live cam drone. Kimmy herself is formidable, so make sure to use your Death Glove abilities and Death Kick to knock her down.

Velvet Chair Girl

Velvet Chair Girl is the fifth main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 05 – Dead Cannon. She is an intergalactic musical chairs queen and the 6th ranking member of the Galactic Superhero Rank. So, you must face the music and play a deadly game of musical chairs to beat her.

Instead of engaging in battle, you must follow the rhythm of the music and run up to a seat right as the music stops. Moreover, you can also try to match the buttons on the screen to boost your speed. However, you’ll die if you fail to secure yourself a seat when the music stops because Ohma, Velvet Chair Girl’s pet, will obliterate losers with a concentrated laser beam. So, your execution has to be flawless.

You’ll have to win this nerve-wracking game of musical chairs for four rounds consecutively. However, the music will be paced up in each round, and so will the QTE buttons. You have to be careful not to make too many mistakes in the final round and secure your seat before Velvet Chair Girl in order to beat her.

Ohma

Ohma is the sixth main boss of No More Heroes 3 and has to be defeated as part of the main boss fight in Episode 05 – Dead Cannon. Although Ohma plays a vital role in eliminating losers in the musical chair competition, the laser-shooting alien octopus spirals out of control upon the death of its master.

In this round of battle, Ohma will continue to shoot laser beams out of its mouth. Although there are no other move sets, Ohma shifts gears from short blasts to long blasts. And just like your battle against Velvet Chair Girl, getting hit by Ohma’s beam will result in an instant K.O.

To win against Ohma, you need to dodge its laser beams successfully. The best attack pattern is to sprint around the battle arena and attack Ohma from behind since it only shoots out a single concentrated trajectory. Moreover, you should rely on skills like Death Rain and use Death Slow to slow down Ohma’s laser beam. It is important to keep your combos short and not rely on heavy attacks to defeat Ohma.

Midori Midorikawa

Midori Midorikawa is the seventh main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 06 – Hell. She is the fifth-ranking member of the Galactic Superhero Ranking and the girlfriend of NT Kamui. It is later learned that she joined the rankings as part of a misunderstanding and wants out.

After a seriously creepy self-introduction, you must follow the green flame across the haunted school halls. Once you’ve successfully navigated through the labyrinth, which will involve several mini-battles with mannequins, you’ll eventually face Midori herself in the school gymnasium. Midori is a ranged attacker, with most attacks involving launching hundreds of fireballs in your direction.

Midori is also elusive and tries to maintain distance from you during battle. So you need to use multi-missile attacks to hit her and look for openings to close the distance between you two. However, she will use wind and fire slashes to counterattack if you get too close. So you must react quickly to avoid getting caught in her whirlwind of slashes.

Destroyman True Face

Destroyman is synonymous with being an opponent that doesn’t know when to give up. Destroyman True Face returns as the eighth main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 07 Crosshairs. It seems he has returned with an arsenal of Destroyman robots to save the world from Travis Touchdown, and he definitely will not go down without a fight.

The battle will take place in different phases, with the first phase involving a battle with an arsenal of Destroymen. These robots aren’t as powerful as the original Destroyman and use standard close-range attacks, so you can easily take them out without much hassle. A new batch of robots appears every time you wipe out the previous group, so this phase is all about persistence.

Once half the battle is over, you’ll encounter Destroyman True Face, and he is much more powerful and intelligent than the ones you’ve been fighting all this time. He will use close-range and long-range attacks involving lightning blasts and cannonballs. Moreover, he will use a laser beam attack from the sky once his health drops by half. This battle is best won in full armor mode. And you need to use your Death Glove Skills to win this battle, especially Death Kick.

Sonic Juice

Sonic Juice is the ninth main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 08 – Loyalty. He is known as the Guan Yu of Space due to his high intelligence. And that intelligence also secured him the spot of being the right-hand man of the notorious Prince FU.

This is Travis’s most unique and interesting battle since Sonic Juice challenges him to fight in a JRPG turn-based combat system. The battle UI resembles exactly like old Final Fantasy games. However, your skillset is completely useless, and you must find a way to break out of this system and even the playing field.

If turn-based combat is your thing and you want to take Sonic Juice up to the challenge, then the right strategy is to target his weakness. As you can imagine, Sonic Juice resembles a sea creature, and the whole battle stage looks underwater. For that reason, Sonic Juice’s weakness stands to be Electricity.

Now, hitting him with your Beam Katana on its own wont do much damage. So, you must select “Thunder Spell” under Magic on your first turn to boost your Beam Katana’s power exponentially and select “Fight” on your next turn. Make sure to replenish and recharge your Beam Katana’s energy throughout the turns until you beat Sonic Juice.

However, there is a way to break out of this system and force Sonic Juice to submit to No More Heroes 3’s hack-and-slash action-driven battle. For this, you will first have to select “Fight” and then choose the command menu instead of Sonic Juice.

This will essentially destroy the command menu and the turn-based combat system and allow you to fight Sonic Juice in your typical style. Since he is a giant monster that stays in one place, you can win the fight by dodging his attacks and hitting him with everything you’ve got whenever you see an opening.

Henry Cooldown

Henry Cooldown, Travis’s spiteful twin brother, makes a comeback as the tenth main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 09 – Flesh and Blood. Henry only has one goal, and that is to kill Travis Touchdown. Since the Galactic Superhero Rank’s 2nd ranked fighter, Paradox Bandit, is a no-show, Henry sees it as the perfect opportunity to put an end to Travis’s life.

Henry is a master of both melee and ranged attacks. He dual-wields beam swords and rains down dark energy orbs at Travis. Henry is incredibly hostile toward Travis, which is reflected in his attack pattern. He will slash at you and perform aerial attacks. Moreover, he will also leap into the air occasionally and perform a spinning razor slash. Once his health drops below 70%, his agility will increase, and he will use new move sets.

He will send multiple shockwaves sliding toward Travis and warp around the battle stage. And when his health bar drops to one, he will become even more aggressive and summon green tendrils that rise from the ground and attack Travis. Not only that, but his beam swords will grow much longer, and his slashes will cover a wide area.

The only way to win this battle is to dodge his attacks and catch him off-guard. Try to rely on your Death Glove skills like Death Slow to slow him down, and make sure to use Death Kick, as it will come in incredibly handy. If the fight gets too overwhelming, be sure to use Death Force to knock him over. Moreover, if you can close your distance, try using wrestling moves on Henry and stun him. Using Death Rain will come in handy whenever he is incapacitated.

Prince FU (Jesse Baptiste VI)

Prince FU is the eleventh main boss of No More Heroes 3 and appears in Episode 10 – Friends. He is the “apparent” big bad villain of this story and the leader of the alien invasion scheme. Apart from being a galactic overlord and the founder of the Galactic Superhero Rank, he is also the crown prince of another planet, and his real name is Jess Baptiste VI.

Since you’ve come all this way by defeating his underlings in gruesome battles, don’t expect this to be an easy fight. FU has plenty of long-ranged and short-ranged attacks and a solid defense. Most Death Glove skills don’t work on him, so he seems to have the upper hand in battle. Moreover, you will also have to fight him twice in back-to-back battles.

His attack patterns include wrestling-grabbing and tackling Travis, mercilessly headbutting Travis, and gnawing at Travis with his giant claws. Moreover, he can even direct drills of wind energy in your direction and go full Kamehameha at you with a giant deadly sphere of dark energy.

Furthermore, he’ll perform leaping claw slashes when his health goes down by 75%. At this stage, he will use a new move that involves hovering in the sky and summoning giant spiked pillars from the ground. Given how he nullifies skills like Death Force and Death Kick, your opportunities of finding an opening are fairly constricted.

The best strategy is to avoid taking damage by performing perfect dodges. It is essential to conserve power by dodging instead of blocking because it will be a long battle. Moreover, you have to utilize every opening you get to deal damage to FU. Try to attack him in his recovery phase when he tries to grab you and misses. Furthermore, it is best to attack as soon as the eyes on his body close. In addition, you will have a fighting chance to win in full-armor mode, especially during his charged attacks.

In the second stage of your battle, you will be fighting in a room with many rainbow portals. FU occasionally sticks his hand out and gnaws at you from different portals. He will retract his arm right after his attack, so you must be prepared to land a charged attack when it comes. He mostly attacks through the lowered portals.

Moreover, he sometimes switches up his attack by shooting lasers through the portals. The arms sticking out of the portal will get beefier as his health drops, so his attack speed will also be lowered. Keep pushing and attack the hand until his health depletes completely.

Damon

Damon is the twelfth and final main boss of No More Heroes 3. He is the secret boss of Episode 10 – Friends and the real mastermind behind everything. Although he always resented Travis, he was powerless to do anything about it until he met FU 20 years ago. And now that he has discarded his pawn after obtaining his power, Damon is ready to take down Travis alone.

The first fight with Damon will be entirely in a mecha-fashion in the sky. After transforming the Damon Tower into a giant mecha, Damon will come at you with everything he’s got. You will have to take him down using your own mecha summoned from the Daemon X Machina universe. Thankfully, this stage will be cleared through QTEs, so you must pay attention and press the right buttons as displayed on the screen.

The second stage of the battle will be a side-scrolling fighting game. Damon’s move sets include performing a rolling dash and ground slam, summoning projectiles from the sky, and shooting spikes that emerge from his body. Once his health drops significantly, he can rain down spikes on Travis.

Thankfully, you’ll have all your Death Glove skills with you. So use skills like Death Slow to slow down his attacks. Use your death glove skills to stun and stagger Damon, and create windows of opportunity to chain combos until you win the fight.
