NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — HeadCount, the non-partisan voter advocacy organization, announced it will mark its 20th anniversary in 2024 with a year of partner and volunteer appreciation.

As part of the campaign, Headcount will continue its mission of attempting to reach and register young voters through events that engage them through music and community.

As the organization heads into the 2024 election season, Headcount, now under the stewardship of its new Executive Director Lucille Wenegieme, will focus on expanding its activities by partnering with civic organizations to help drive voter registration and turnout.

Wenegieme joins Headcount with an extensive background that crosses the arenas of political advocacy, communications, fashion, and biomedical science. Her resume includes roles at Fireside Campaigns, the Washington D.C.-based political consultancy, where she served as Vice President of Digital Strategy, and the National Vote At Home Institute where she held the post of Vice President Of Communications.

“We believe every person should have an equal voice in elections regardless of your race, identity, income, or political ideology,” says Wenegieme. “We use the power of music and popular culture to register voters and promote participation in democracy. We reach young people where they already are to inform and empower.”
