BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - The Exergy Tour's importance on the Olympic landscape was not lost on former Olympian high jumper Dick Fosbury.

Fosbury is Vice President of the U.S. Olympian's Association, and leads the Idaho Chapter from his home in Ketchum. That group sponsored 20 Walks to London across the U.S. and with the Exergy Tour starting Thursday, the timing couldn't be better for Boise.

"Idaho's building a tradition - we have a lot of Olympians and the kids that are in school, I hope that they'll be inspired by this Exergy Women's Cycling Tour. Look at all the sports that they can participate in, and someday they may become an Olympian as well," said Fosbury.

Fosbury said the state of Idaho is home to more than 50 Olympians, most of them winter athletes.
