UFC CEO Dana White knows the Pay-per-view world in and out. He’s been in charge of the UFC for putting around at least 12 PPV events every year and has been doing this for more than two decades. As such, he criticized the boxing promoters for allegedly claiming high PPV numbers. The recent misfits influencer boxing event which featured fights like KSI vs. Tommy Fury and Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis were rumored to make 1.3 Million PPV buys.

However, Dana White didn’t believe the said numbers to be true and slammed the people who claimed otherwise. Dana White appeared on the recent episode of the ‘Full Send’ podcast. In which he discussed the false claim of the PPV buys for the boxing event ‘KSI vs. Tommy Fury’. White stated that it was difficult to bring in those humungous PPV buys. As such, he reasoned it by mentioning the smaller number of events they showcase every year. Here is what he said:

I haven’t heard about anybody selling a lot of pay-per-views lately, Let me tell you how hard it is to sell 1.3 million pay-per-view buys, and if you did sell 1.3 million — if you sold 700,000 pay-per-view buys — they’d put putting on fights fu****g 10 times a year. When you hear those kinds of numbers fly around the pay-per-view world, they’re lying motherfu****s. Don’t ever believe that s***.

Further, Dana White said if they were making anywhere close to those numbers, broadcasters, and promoters would line up to do business with them. But, that was not the case. However, he admitted the hype around influencer boxing was real and it drew the eyes of the combat fans.

But he didn’t approve of the disclosed PPV numbers. Also, he was worried about the actual fighters not getting the recognition amidst these influencers.

Dana White on the rumored 1.3M buys for The Prime Card:

Let me tell you this. Let me tell you how hard it is to sell 1.3M PPV buys. And if you did sell 1.3M…if you sold fucking 700K PPV buys, they'd be putting on fights fucking ten times a year.

The UFC is one of the leading promoters of mixed martial arts. They’ve successfully completed their 30th year anniversary with their last PPV event (UFC 295). A big reason for their success would be UFC CEO Dana White. They end the year 2023 with a massive PPV card in UFC 296. Leon Edwards and Colby Covington headline the card.

Dana White on the possibility of Dillon Danis signing with the UFC

Dillon Danis grabbed the eyes of the fans with his gratuitous actions in the lead-up to his fight with Logan Paul. The two were involved in verbal wars and developed a beef. However, it escalated into a physical altercation during one of the promotional events.

As such, it found a lot of traction from the fight fans. Now, Dana White revealed whether he would sign Danis to the UFC.

In the recent episode of the ‘Full Send’ podcast, Dana White stated that he wasn’t looking to sign Dillon Danis to the UFC. He reasoned it by saying that his personality was so uncertain.

He mentioned that he created chaos wherever he was and the UFC wasn’t about it. However, he stated that he had no beef with Danis.

I have no beef with the kid at all. But, everytime he's around sh**'s going down. We can't have that stuff going around here. We don't need that sh** to sell fights. And basically what happens is when that goes down, the athletic commission goes crazy and people start getting fined and they come after us. It's our job to keep that under control.

Earlier in 2018 and 2019, Dillon Danis competed in MMA under Bellator and had won two fights. However, he only came after a long hiatus to fight Logan Paul in the recent ‘Misfits event ‘Prime Card’ headlined by ‘KSI vs. Tommy Fury’. He lost the fight to Logan Paul via disqualification in the sixth round. As such, Dana white wasn’t interested in signing him to the UFC.
