Caldwell man sentenced to five years for attempted sexual enticement of a minor

A Caldwell man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for attempting to sexually entice a minor.

According to U.S. Attorney for Idaho Josh Hurwitt, 33-year-old Tyler Douglas Asker of Caldwell sent online messages to an undercover detective that he believed to be a 14-year-old girl between August 3, 2023, and August 18, 2023. in the messages, Asker sent an explicit video and discussed doing sexual acts. Asker was arrested after he requested the child's address and traveled to meet the child.

Asker was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison as well as ten years of supervised release, he is also required to register as a sex offender.
