BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Tis the season for doing the right thing.
Boise Parks and Recreation is pleading with outdoor enthusiasts to stay off muddy trails. It's that time of the year when certain trails freeze and then thaw, which can damage the trails when in use.
"Please stay off the muddy trails," Boise Parks wrote on social media.
Polecat Loop, which is shown in the above photos, is especially popular with hikers and bikers, but it's also prone to mud. Officials ask folks to always check Ridge to Rivers for daily trail conditions.
"Thank you for helping us protect the Boise Foothills," the city said.
